Are you sure this is an eagle? Looks a lot like a black kite but I may be wrong.

it is an eagle . It could be a greater spotted eagle, but I'm honest: I've forgotten its name :D

If you are certain then I won't argue. The face struck me as kite-like on first sight but ovbiously kites and some eagles look very alike. Plus, 'where kites have been' doesn't have the same impact as a title :)

...it's a beginner-DSLR -so it's about 800€ with a 18-55mm lens (nowadays 500€). The lens - 70-300mm, 4.5-5.6, - was about 400€. The next higher class camera -bodies (Nikon D7000, Eos 60D) are about 1200€. And if you're looking forward to better lenses it's about 500€ minimum (for a wide-angle-zoom) up to ... 7.500€? (for super-tele-lenses. Like the Nikon 500mm/F4) . It's just a freaking expensive hobby :D And waaaay too much for a pupil :D
